After filling up on yams, turkducken, and any and all assortment of pies over the past four days, we're back, ready to work off those holiday calories while siultaneously filling up the calendar with concerts and the like.
Tuesday
El Guincho

Like Panda Bear's Person Pitch on a sugary triple espresso shot, Spain's Pablo Diaz-Reixa (a/k/a El Guincho) gets spindizzy with his heavy percussion sampledelica tracks as he DJs tonight. With Lemonade.

Wednesday
Boris
Japan's Boris released another face-breaking full-length in Smile. Whereas their previous effort, Pink, amalgamated their slow metal sludge with shoegaze smog, Smile found the band adding some folk elements to the mix. With Growing, CLOUDS.

Thursday
Tim Hecker, Wordless Music Orchestra
Canada's Tim Hecker, who uses guitar and effects to create great walls of ear-bleeding yet nuanced white noise has only gotten stronger with every release. His last, Harmony in the Ultraviolet, was nothing short of a stunning effort. Tonight he'll no doubt be previewing his latest, set for release in early '09.

Friday
O'Death
Brooklyn's O'Death makes the banjo bleed like a punk in a mosh pit, wedding murder ballads and hardcore. Okay, so at times it'll make you think of "Devil Went Down to Georgia," as if that's a bad thing. With New Jersey's Titus Andronicus, Wye Oak.
@ Bowery Ballroom 6 Delancey Street @ Bowery

Saturday
Yeasayer

Bodymore's Yeasayer was a surprise breakout success with last year's weird and catchy dervish of percussion and sound, All Hour Cymbals. With Suckers, Gates of Heaven.
@ Music Hall of Williamsburg 66 N. 6th St. 8pm 18+$15

Sunday
Love is All, Crystal Stilts
Sweden's Love is All returns stateside to celebrate the release of their latest, A Hundred Things Keep Me Up at Night. The garage-pop group is paired with the reverb-soaked garage sounds of Brooklyn's Crystal Stilts.
