Okay, maybe not really a recommendation to go see NKOTB, but I do recall going to my cousin's 13th birthday party back in the late 80s and for some reason, all of her friends got it in their hairspray-teased heads that I looked just like Joey McIntyre. Seriously, I never had so much game in my life as I did that day: girls were lining up to flirt with me. I may go just to try and cop his look again.

Perhaps you've heard of either of these Carters? There's soon-to-be-Brooklyn's Nets basketball franchise CEO Sean Carter as well as ESPN blogger Wayne Carter at the top of the bill (apparently they rap) not to mention Ne-Yo (who may or may not be into pro sports himself).

Spin Magazine cover boys MGMT might still be hit or miss live, plunging down into proggy, meandering excursions, but perhaps their recent stand opening for Beck will lead them to foreground their swirling pop tendenices. At least the duo pay homage to their past with an opening set from Suicide. Recently, we were chuffed to find that the Blast First imprint had pressed up a 10" of Bruce Springsteen doing a cover of Suicide's "Dream Baby Dream," proving that beneath the sinister electric noise of the duo lies an aching core. Expect both halves on display.

It's appropo that sugar-rush keys-drums duo Matt & Kim recently snuck out a limited seven inch on the new Mountain Dew record label (yeah, we know, it's kinda weird even in this day and age of ridiculous marketing stunts) as their rush is similar to the vitamin-pee colored beverage. They headline this Todd P Halloween party with other acts that also act like they had waaaay too much sugar and caffeine (Ponytail, we're looking at you).
