So the big news coming out of LA this week was that finally Dave Navarro's Camp Freddy Radio show was canceled. Hosted with his buddies Billy Morrison, Matt Sorum, and a few other rotating guests, it was a misguided, though sometimes funny, radio show that aired Saturday nights on the local indie station. It wasn't all bad, but it was definitely past its prime, and the Sunset Strip sleeze of it clashed with the regular indie aesthetic.
So what moves into it's place? Henry Rollins' show, Harmony in My Head. It's actually a decent show. Rollins has an insane collection of music and clever anecdotes to go along with a lot of it. He seems to be legitimately interested in new sounds and has played some wild, non-radio-friendly stuff, so it's cool to see that getting a good slot.
Steve Jones continues his daily show at noon, and Joe Escalante still has the morning drive (man I wish Dicky Barret never got fired). But Danny Masterson and Brent Bolthouse's show, Feel My Heat is on hiatus, as is the Chemical Bros. show on Friday nights. I forget what that one's called.
