Rivers Cuomo - Blast Off
Long Beach's Fingerprints has long been a haven of live music. At this point they've perfected the acoustic in-store and it's usually a destination for touring bands on their way through SoCal. So it's not too much of a surprise the Weezer-frontman Rivers Cuomo is debuting the follow up to his Demos album there, hopefully with the help of a few local musicians.
On November 25th he'll be joined by a small cadre of locals performing whatever song they want. Apparentley it can be anything, provided you bring come prepared.

We got an email from Fingerprints earlier today announcing the event. Here's what Rivers had to say:

Fingerprints opened their list at 11:00am this morning. The list will be open to people that pre-order Rivers' new album, Alone II: The Home Recordings of Rivers Cuomo, with a limit of two spots per person. Apparently, they're looking for both musicians and non-musicians and they will manage the list to make sure there are enough of both. You also have to order the album over the phone or in-person."I am doing a really cool event to promote Alone II on the day of release. It's basically another Hootenanny, but it's a little different. Anyone can be a part of it, you don't have to bring an instrument. But if you do bring an instrument, you will be part of the team that gets to pick the songs we play. It can be any song, in some cases, it might just be one person who says, like, "Oh! Let's play this obscure B-side!", and he may be the only person in the room who knows it, besides me, and then it will just be me and that person giving a concert to the rest of the room. And then the next song, there might be 20 people who know it. So that will be a very dynamic event and very fun for me." - Rivers Cuomo
