I Can't Hide - The Flamin' Groovies
Cosmic. A couple of weeks ago I had a serious moment with the Flamin' Groovies' Teenage Head at my bandmate's apartment and started a listening regimen that was roughly one spin of TH for every other record I played. Then I get an e-mail that the Groovies--or at least two of the main Groovies--are reuniting for the Ponderosa Stomp, a music festival that's been happening in New Orleans for the past few years that I'm sorry to say I didn't even know existed.

This year, one of the highlights of the 8th annual Ponderosa Stomp--April 28 and 29 at the House of Blues in New Orleans--will surely be the reunion of Cyril Jordan and Roy Loney of the Flamin' Groovies. As the twin creative engines behind the original Groovies line-up, Jordan and Loney took the concept of greasy, good-time, high energy rock & roll to its face-melting limits, and created a template for countless underground American bands in the process. But Jordan and Loney haven't shared a stage since 1971.
